Watching FC Bayern Munich play a match in Munich
For any sports fans a trip to Munich wouldn’t be complete without catching the most famous home football team playing live at the Allianz Arena Stadium. Here’s how you can enjoy an FC Bayern Munich football match at their famous ground, and buy a ticket at a fair price!
FC Bayern Munich is the most successful team in German football history and as such is always near (or at) the top of the Bundesliga - the professional football league in Germany. Bayern is incredibly popular as well as successful and has won a record of 26 national titles and 18 national cups. It was founded in 1900 so is a little younger than its Munich home side rival, TSV 1860 Munich, but is much more successful and as such has a celebrate list of famous professional team players and a great following both locally and internationally. The red shirts are well recognised throughout the football community and to get a ticket to see them play is a must for any fans. There is also a women’s team called FC Bayern Munich which plays locally also.
Tickets are usually available from March, before the game plan has been listed by the DFL, you can order tickets for the coming season. The most popular matches are with big local rivals TSV 1860 Munich and also Borussia Dortmund.
The official FC Bayern Munich website has tickets listed, but there are also official tickets (including returned tickets) on the Secondary Ticket Market. Some of these tickets are for members only but there are also ones available for the general public and the prices aren’t inflated by ticket touts. You can also release tickets here if you can’t use them and you will be refunded the price of the ticket.
The prices for tickets vary depending where you are in the stadium - see here for a map of areas and categories. Children receive a 50% discount on ticket prices - not ones bought on the Secondary Market though, so check online. There are also designated turnstile entrances for discounted tickets so check your ticket area.
On the Day Tickets
If you want to get tickets on the day for a match - that isn’t sold out already - then you can get them from the ServiceCenter from Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm. At the Allianz Arena Stadium you can buy them on weekdays from 1pm, Saturdays from 9am and on Sundays from 12 noon.

TSV 1860 Munich
Munich’s football fame doesn’t stop with Bayern Munich, their home rival and derby team is TSV 1860 Munich (or Turn- und Sportverein München von 1860.) Less well known, these boys in blue are currently in the second Bundesliga although they were one of the founding members in 1963, winning as West German champions in 1966.
